چکیده

This paper presents an LMI based algorithm for deterministic worst–case identification of non Schur plants in an open-loop setting. Contrary to other approaches dealing with this problem, the proposed technique does not require prior knowledge of a stabilizing controller. The main result of the paper shows that, as the information is completed, i.e. in the limit when the number of samples tends to infinity and the noise level tends to zero, the identified model converges, in the 2–induced topology, to the actual plant. Additional results include an algorithm outlining how to use the results of finite–lenght experiments to synthesize stabilizing controllers. Copyright c 2002 IFAC

Persistent Identification of Time-Varying Systems - Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on

In this paper, the problem of identification of timevarying systems is investigated in the framework of worst-case identification and information-based complexity. Measures of intrinsic errors, termed persistent identification errors, in such identification problems are introduced. For a selected model space of dimension n (finite impulse response models) and an observation window of length m, ...

Controller Vacidation for Stability and Performance Based on an Uncertainty Region Designed from an Identified Model

This paper focuses on the validation (for stability and for performance) of a wntroller that has been designed from an unbiased model of the true system, identified either in open-loop or in closed-loop using a prediction error framework. A controller is said to be validated for stability if it stabilize all models defined by an ellipsoidal paramettic uncertainty set containing the ttue system ...

Open-loop and closed-loop robust optimal control of batch processes using distributional and worst-case analysis

The recognition that optimal control trajectories for batch processes can be highly sensitive to model uncertainties has motivated the development of methods for explicitly addressing robustness during batch processes. This study explores the incorporation of robust performance analysis into open-loop and closed-loop optimal control design. Several types of robust performance objectives are inv...

The role of the condition number and the relative gain array in robustness analysis

-This paper studies deviations of open-loop properties in the presence of modeling uncertainties. Our aim is to gain insights into how open-loop properties and thus potentially closed-loop properties may vary in the face of a diagonally structured uncertainty. We give several estimates for the worst case deviations of the open-loop transfer function in terms of certain structured singular value...
